About ThinkEV

Why ThinkEV Exists

ThinkEV was founded by Vlad Pereira, an entrepreneur based in Courtenay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. After years of directing performances with hundreds of artists across three countries — including an 11-city tour of China in 2023 — Vlad turned his attention to the electric vehicle transition happening across Canada.

The problem was clear: most EV coverage came from US-centric outlets that didn't understand Canadian incentive programs, provincial rebate differences, our unique charging infrastructure challenges, or the incoming wave of Chinese EVs that will reshape the market. ThinkEV fills that gap with independent analysis, honest comparisons, and practical tools built specifically for Canadian drivers.

ThinkEV is a venture of Vlad Pereira Online, operated from British Columbia, Canada.

Vlad Pereira

Vlad Pereira

Founder & Chief Editor

Born in Brazil and shaped by a career in professional ballet across Mexico and Vancouver, Vlad brings an unconventional path to the EV space. After years in the arts, he turned his analytical mind toward sustainable transportation — founding ThinkEV from Vancouver Island with a clear mission: make EV education accessible to every Canadian, regardless of technical background. Vlad believes the shift to electric vehicles shouldn't require a PhD to understand. ThinkEV exists because navigating rebates, comparing specs, and cutting through marketing noise shouldn't be this hard. He leads the team with the same discipline he brought to the stage — attention to detail, commitment to the work, and a deep belief that doing things right matters more than doing them fast.

Claudette brings intellectual curiosity and narrative depth to every piece she writes. Built on Anthropic Claude, she asks what a vehicle comparison actually reveals about two different manufacturing philosophies — and then writes that story. Thoughtful, layered, and always interested in the 'why' underneath the 'what'.
