2026 Chevrolet Equinox EV

The Chevy Equinox EV is GM's first electric SUV that competes on the same value plane the gas Equinox built its franchise on, and the 2026 model year confirms the formula. The Equinox EV ships in two trim families for the Canadian market — LT (FWD or AWD) and RS (FWD or AWD) — covering range from 401 km to 513 km depending on configuration. (The 1LT/2LT/3RS sub-numbering you'll see in US coverage doesn't apply here; Canada keeps it to LT and RS.)

Canadian pricing as of June 2026: Equinox EV LT FWD at $46,199 CAD (the 2025 LT started at $44,999), LT AWD near $49,700, and the RS trims from roughly $50,000 up. The LT FWD and LT AWD are on Transport Canada's EVAP eligible-vehicle list and qualify for the federal $5,000 rebate; the 2026 RS sits above the $50,000 cap and does not. After the rebate, an LT FWD lands near $41,199. Note one figure floating around dealer ads — the $42,999 "price" is a post-discount number, not the MSRP. Even rebate-for-rebate, the LT undercuts a Tesla Model Y RWD ($49,990, also EVAP-eligible) by a few thousand with comparable range.

The Equinox EV's NACS-ready charging port (with a CCS adapter in the box for the launch period) gives owners access to Tesla's V4 Supercharger network as the GM rollout completes through 2026. That's the most operationally important feature for Canadian buyers planning routes outside Toronto and Vancouver, where CCS DC-fast density still lags Tesla's coverage on the 401, the QEW, and the Trans-Canada.
