2026 Volvo EX30
$49,950$44,950 after EVAP

The Volvo EX30 is the smallest premium electric SUV currently sold in Canada and the first Volvo to land at a sub-$60K starting price in over a decade. The big 2026 news is a price cut: Volvo dropped the EX30 by roughly $6,000 and moved production from China to Ghent, Belgium, specifically to get it under the EVAP rebate threshold. The single-motor RWD trims now run from $44,000 (Core) to about $46,000 (Ultra); the Twin Motor AWD trims land near $48,000-$49,000; the Cross Country sits higher. Range comes in at 442 km on the Twin Motor Performance with the larger 69 kWh pack — a genuine premium-segment number despite the compact footprint.
The EX30's case in Canada is the Swedish safety stack at a price point nobody else in the premium segment matches. Standard equipment includes the full Volvo IntelliSafe suite — automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and the Pilot Assist driver-assistance system — none of which require an option-package upcharge. For Canadian buyers buying a first or second premium EV, that standard-equipment posture matters more than the spec-sheet difference between 410 km and 442 km of range.
Federal EVAP eligibility is the headline: because the Belgium-built EX30 now clears the $50,000 final-transaction cap (the Core's all-in price is about $47,919), it's on Transport Canada's eligible-vehicle list and qualifies for the $5,000 rebate. After the rebate, the Core lands near $39,000 — genuinely affordable money for a premium-badged EV. One caveat: the higher Cross Country trim can tip over $50,000 once fees are added, so confirm the final transaction value on that one. Quebec's provincial rebate (now $2,000, down from the old $7,000) can still stack; BC's program is currently paused.
